Show on map is a safari extension that easily allows you to see where a location is. This extension started out when I was looking for a certain kind of shop, and I found myself constantly copying their addresses to Google Maps in order to find where they were exactly. Was that unworkable? No! But was it slightly annoying? Yes!
So I spent some time on making this extension. How much? About 50 times as much as I ever could imagine spending on copying addresses to Google Maps in my whole life. This is the life of a computer scientist.... So please, use this extension, so that collectively we might recover the time that I spent :).
First install the Safari Extension using this link.
Now have to enable the extension in Safari.
You do this by opening Safari, then going to settings, and then extensions (right after you install the app, a button to do this will appear).
The extension should appear there; if it has a ☑ in front of it, congratulations, it's installed and enabled (if not, just tick the box).
If the extension is enabled, you should also see a the "Show on map" icon (
Using the extension is super easy; just right-click on a city name (or country name, or point of interest, or address) and select "Show XXXX on a map", where "XXXX" is the word you just clicked. If the thing you want to search for is more than 1 word, select the text you want to search for, and then right-click.
